Explore a new perspective on drawing in our unique class focused on capturing light rather than shadow. Students will choose from a variety of animal subjects and use white colored pencils of different hardness to create both fine lines and broad strokes. The class will cover multiple techniques to achieve diverse textures and values. Adaptable to various skill levels, it offers a range of subjects from simple to complex. Beginners can use tracing carbon paper or a grid system to start their proportions, while more advanced artists can opt for free-hand drawing. Join this class to enhance your artistic skills and see the world in a new light!

Located in the Paramount subdivision in Meridian, Idaho (near Chinden and Meridian Road). Physical address for the class will be provided after registration.

Students should wear clothing and shoes that are both appropriate and comfortable. Clothing and shoes may be stained or ruined during creative processes, so please plan accordingly. Art is more fun when students don’t have to stress about keeping their attire spot-free.  Having hair tied/pulled back away from the face is recommended. A safe area is provided for phones/watches, and other personal items that need to stay clean.

Class Difficulty Rating Explanation
4 STARS indicates the highest difficulty, requiring patience, high amounts of refinement, attention to detailed instructions, strict adherence to safety protocols, and usually includes numerous mediums and processes. Suggested for ages 14+
3 STARS indicates projects requiring patience, attention to detailed instructions, moderate amounts of refinement, adherence to safety protocols, and usually includes multiple mediums and processes. Suggested for ages 11+
2 STARS indicates projects which require moderate amounts of patience and attention to instructions. Projects in this range tend to involve only a couple mediums and move along at a quicker pace, and do not require refined skills. Suggested for ages 8+
1 STAR indicates projects which require basic instruction and ability to follow directions and rules. Typically include minimal processes and often the project is simplified and prepared in advance. Suggested for ages 6+
